"You're Our Boy" -- Alice's Restaurant

For years, Thanksgiving was my reminder that I ought to mail the Alice's Restaurant LP back to the guy who lent it to me my sophomore year in college.  Eventually I quit worrying about it.

Here's a clip from the movie:

If for some reason you don't know why I'm posting this on Thanksgiving, see the Alice's Restaurant wikipedia entry.

(a) I wonder if Alice's Restaurant is a Southern thing... I mentioned it to my Midwestern hubby who has an otherwise encyclopedic knowledge of music, and he had no clue what I was talking about.

(b) I am still harboring ill will toward the person who borrowed my Talking Heads and Peter Gabriel albums in college. I was just about to say that therefore you should still mail the LP back to him, but I think I've decided instead that I am going to quit worrying about it. Hmm, that was a kinda weird twist. (Hey, you got anything for foot in mouth? I've got some of that left over from the 80s, too.)

->Valerie's comment: I wonder about the Southern thing, too. I mean, sure, Arlo is from New York and the thing happened in Massachusetts. On the other hand, it is a long, rambling story accompanied by guitar, which strikes me as more southern than northern. Though maybe the explanation is that it's really *eastern*.

Regarding a cure for foot in mouth, I'm sorry but I've used up my whole supply.
