Curious Phil and the Man in the Yellow...
If you've spent much time in Chapel Hill, you've seen this dude. He's also got a purple suit and, I think, a fuschia one. All three-piece. All sharp. This one has something like eight button holes (but fewer buttons). All are worn with hat, shades, and a walking stick.
I asked him his name something like three times but never could understand what he said, so I gave up and handed him a business card -- asking him to write me if he'd like a copy of the photo. If he does write, I hope his handwriting is legible.
I've wondered about that guy, too. I haven't seen the in person yet (although it looks more like a melon color in the photograph). But damn if that ain't one skinny man.

There are a lot of interesting characters I have noticed in Chapel Hill. The other one that stands out in my mind is an elderly white woman who has LONG grey braids (like Bo Derek, not like Dorothy) and who has a look about her of a human Barbie born in 1935.

Frank Wright. He has something 30 different suits. He believes that good dressing is his gift from god. He hangs out at McDonald's a lot these days.

My friend Gabe has dubbed him, "The Sharply-Dressed Man." Appropriate.

I love that guy! My favorite of his suits is lime green.

Thank you to Mondo Mundo for the alert:
Re: I Zimbra's quote, above -- Steve Harvey (I think) mentions in a comedy/commentary routine about why people shouldn't be harrassed for moving out of the hood when they make some money, "You're S'POZED to look like God done something for you!"
